The magazine featuring topless pictures of the Duchess Kate might have been French, but it reveals that the man behind the biggest royal scandals of recent times is an Irish photographer.
Who took topless photos of the Duchess Kate? Nicknamed as 'Le Rat'. |
The world now want to know the man on the other side of the camera who dare to snap topless Kate Middleton.
According to media reports; a freelance photographer, talking to France Metro newspaper on Friday, claims that he knows the identity of the photographer who photographed the topless pictures of the Duchess sunbathing while on trip with her husband, Prince William, at a secluded, private French chateau owned by Queen Elizabeth's nephew.
French celebrity photographer Pascal Rostain refused to indentify the lensman but still claimed: “In our small paparazzi world, we know who it is but obviously don’t say anything. I can just say it is an Irish national who lives in the south of France.”
Rostain added that the mystery Irishman in question stood to make quite a handsome bucks from the controversial pics as well.
"These photos were taken on the orders of Closer, who asked him to sit around for several days to take them," Rostain told further the newspaper.
Whoever the photographer is, he or she is being referred to as "Le Rat" by the London tabloids and could face a hefty $60,000 fine and one year in prison under French law, reported by ABC News.
The pictures first published last Friday in glossy French magazine 'Closer' and soon went worldwide, causing an international scandal in the process. Four additional publications, in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and Italy, have since published the photos of Middleton, 30.
